Bobby Deol and Shah Rukh Khan may not have shared screen space often, but their journey has been intertwined since the ’90s. Bobby, who made his debut with Barsaat in 1995, recalls how SRK once spotted his poster near Juhu Beach and thought he was “handsome” and someone he wanted to become a superstar like. The two actors eventually crossed paths onscreen with Class Of ’83, produced by Red Chillies Entertainment, which also marked Bobby’s OTT debut.
Supporting each other’s kids
Now, as Bobby features in Aryan Khan’s directorial debut The Ba***ds Of Bollywood, he highlights the deep respect and warmth he shares with SRK. “Shah Rukh’s a humble man, who’s very sure of himself. He doesn’t need the acknowledgement of the world for that. That’s why he is what he is. And that’s exactly how Aryan is. There’s so much similarity between them in that manner,” Bobby said.
He added that their connection also comes from understanding the importance of standing by their children. “When someone like him gives you so much importance and love, it really feels good. He feels those feelings towards me more so because I’m a part of his son’s first-ever show. Both of us know how important it is to be there for our kids. We’ll always be there for each other’s kids in whichever way we can.”
‘Hats off to SRK and Gauri’
The Animal actor also spoke about Aryan Khan’s qualities as a filmmaker, praising how grounded he has remained despite being a superstar’s son. “I have a lot of respect for Aryan as a director and a human being. He took my inputs very seriously during the shoot. I think he has shaped up to be a really good young man. Hats off to Gauri and Shah Rukh for bringing Aryan and the other kids (Suhana Khan, AbRam Khan) up so well.”
Fond memories and mutual respect
Bobby also recalled SRK’s kind words at the trailer launch, where the superstar complimented his Barsaat poster and even his sunglasses. “It was very sweet and nice of Shah Rukh to say that when he saw my banner, he found me very good looking and that he loved my sunglasses, which I’m still confused about – if they were blue or purple,” he laughed. For Bobby, the bond with Shah Rukh extends beyond professional collaborations. “I’m lucky to have known him in my life and his son, who I love so much. It feels really nice to know that family,” he signed off. Go to Source
