Bobby Deol breaks down recalling papa Dharmendra

Bobby Deol breaks down recalling papa Dharmendra, ‘Even his anger was lovely’

Dharmendra, Bollywood’s beloved “He-Man,” passed away on November 24, 2025, just days before turning 90. His son Bobby Deol recently got emotional on Shekhar Tonite, saying, “Even his anger was lovely.” Shekhar Suman remembered him as the simplest and most loving man.

Dharmendra started his journey in Bollywood by winning a talent contest, and from there, he never looked back. His strong screen presence earned him the nickname “He-Man” of Bollywood. However, he was not just a great actor; he was also a humble and simple man. In his later years, he would share sweet, honest videos from his farmhouse, talking about his plants and his daily life. When he passed away last year, just a few days before his 90th birthday, the whole country felt the loss.

Bobby Deol opens up about Dharmendra

His son Bobby Deol recently appeared on Shekhar Suman’s YouTube show, Shekhar Tonite, where he talked about how much people loved his father. The show had started with Nitin Gadkari as its first guest, and Bobby was one of the next to be invited. These days, Bobby is going through a great phase in his career, with popular projects like ‘Aashram’ and ‘Animal’ bringing him back into the spotlight. On the show, he opened up about the immense love and respect people had for his father, Dharmendra.Talking about his father, Bobby said, “For me, my father was someone who was loved by the entire world. I always knew everybody loved him, but after his passing, the entire world expressed grief and pain just like his family. That’s who papa was. Papa was special. Nobody can be like him.”

Bobby gets emotional recalling Dharmendra’s love

During the conversation, Shekhar asked Bobby what one memory of his father he would carry with him forever. The question clearly moved him, and he took a moment before answering. His eyes welled up as he struggled to pick just one thing from a lifetime of memories. “There can’t be one single thing about him. Everything about him is worth remembering. Everything about him was lovely. Even his anger was lovely,” he shared.

Shekhar Suman remembers Dharmendra as the simplest man

As Bobby found it difficult to express his feelings, Shekhar gently took over and shared his own thoughts on what made Dharmendra so extraordinary. For Shekhar, it was the way Dharmendra loved openly, equally, and without any barriers. “He gave the same kind of love to everyone that he gave to his sons, Sunny and Bobby,” Shekhar said, adding, “He spoke to each of his fans through his Instagram videos, taking them around his farmhouse. He was the simplest man.”

Dharmendra’s farewell was as quiet as the life he lived

Dharmendra passed away on November 24, 2025, leaving behind a loss that is difficult to put into words. His last rites were also kept very quiet and private, with only his close family members present to say their final goodbye. Go to Source
