'Blast' box office collection day 5: Arjun Sarja film sees 40 percent fall; India Net touches Rs 17.55 Cr

Arjun Sarja starrer ‘Blast’ witnessed a noticeable dip in collections on its fifth day in theatres. After recording stronger numbers earlier the film experienced a slowdown as weekday business began to take effect.According to Sacnilk estimates, the action entertainer earned Rs 3.60 crore India net on Day 5. The latest figure reflects a 40 percent decline compared to the previous day’s Rs 6 crore collection.Despite the drop the film has managed to maintain a steady pace during its first week in cinemas.

India collection moves ahead steadily

With the Day 5 numbers included, ‘Blast’ has now reached Rs 17.55 crore in India net collections. Its India gross collection currently stands at Rs 20.17 crore.The film generated its Day 5 business from 2,707 shows across various regions. The Tamil version collected Rs 3 crore on Day 5. The Telugu version contributed Rs 60 lakhs to the overall total.Tamil occupancy stood at 35 percent for the day. The night shows witnessed the best audience turnout and reached 45.77 percent occupancy.’Blast’ collected Rs 75 lakhs from overseas territories on Day 5.The film’s total overseas gross has now reached Rs 6.30 crore. Combined with domestic numbers, its worldwide gross collection has climbed to Rs 26.47 crore.State-wise collection figures showed Tamil Nadu leading the business with Rs 2 crore. Kerala followed with Rs 1.35 crore.Andhra Pradesh and Telangana added Rs 55 lakhs. Karnataka contributed Rs 23 lakhs while the remaining regions added smaller figures.

Tamil version of ‘Blast’ continues to dominate

Occupancy trends showed stronger audience response for the Tamil version compared to the Telugu release. The Tamil version registered an overall occupancy of 33.19 percent. The Telugu version reported an overall occupancy of 17.28 percent. Evening shows performed slightly better than the remaining slots.’Blast’ has been directed by Subash K. Raj. The film features Arjun Sarja in the lead role and presents him in an action-focused setup.
