‘Bandar’ box office Day 2: Bobby Deol film collects Rs 90L

'Bandar' box office collection day 2: Bobby Deol starrer witnesses growth; collects Rs 90 lakh amid multiple releases

Bobby Deol’s ‘Bandar’ has opened to low numbers at the box office. The movie directed by Anurag Kashyap has been one of the anticipated films of the year. However, just before its release, the makers stated that they were not looking for an opening weekend spectacle with multiplex screenings and wanted to grow through word of mouth. Meanwhile, Critics and the audience have been calling it Bobby Deol’s ‘career-best’ performance.’Bandar’ box office collection day 2Helmed by Anurag Kashyap, the movie debuted at the box office with Rs 50 lakhs. Now, according to the Sacnilk report, the film has recorded a growth of 90% in collections compared to its previous day’s box office score. The Bobby Deol starrer has earned Rs 0.95 crore across 1,257 shows on day 2. With that, the film’s total India net collection now stands at Rs 1.45 crore, while the total India gross collection has reached Rs 1.75 crore.Day-wise collection (India net)Day 1 collection: Rs 0.50 croreDay 2 collection: Rs 0.95 croreTotal: Rs 1.45 croreBox office clashAt the box office, the Anurag Kashyap directorial clashed with other Bollywood, Hollywood and South films. The movie is facing competition from the Varun Dhawan, Mrunal Thakur, and Pooja Hegde starrer ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’ and Ram Charan’s ‘Peddi’. The movie also locked horns with the Hollywood flick ‘He-Man and the Masters of the Universe’.Screen allocation issueA day before its release, the makers decided to stop showcasing the movie in national multiplex chains, as they felt the shows had been distributed unfairly. Girish Johar of Zee Studios told Bollywood Hungama, “Our ask is very fair. The producers and we have devised a particular release strategy catering to the core target audience. Accordingly, we had requested cinemas across the country to give us certain allotted shows of the film, that is, 3-4 shows in 5 screens post 1 pm. The duration of the film is also not very long (130 minutes). We are also aware that there is a heavy rush of releases this week. That is why we didn’t go for a wide release. The plexes are still working on it, and the back-and-forth is still going on.”He added, “We want to build upon the word of mouth and then increase showcasing, as we believe the film will have long legs at the box office.”The film also features Sapna Pabbi, Sanya Malhotra, and Saba Azad in pivotal roles. The movie was released in cinemas on June 5, 2026.DISCLAIMER: The box office numbers and data in this article are compiled from diverse public and industry sources.
