Badusha’s daughter breaks silence: ‘My father has taken a loan’

'My father has taken a loan and will return it, don't call him a thief'; Badusha’s daughter breaks silence on Hareesh Kanaran controversy

Actor Hareesh Kanaran’s accusation of a Rs 20 lakh unpaid loan against producer N.M. Badusha has been addressed by Badusha’s daughter, Shifa. She confirmed the loan was taken and will be repaid, stating the funds are currently tied up in film production.

The alleged dispute between actor Hareesh Kanaran and producer-production controller N.M. Badusha has taken a dramatic turn.Badusha’s daughter Shifa Badusha came forward on the last day to address the criticism surrounding her family.

Know about the controversy

For the unversed, actor Hareesh Kanaran recently claimed that he lent Rs 20 lakh to Badusha for one week, but the amount was never returned. According to Hareesh, the producer has been evading him for nearly four years and has even blocked film opportunities for him since the financial dispute began.N.M. Badusha had earlier stated that he would explain everything after the release of his latest film Rachel, hinting that timing and professional commitments were factors behind the delay in giving an official clarification.

Daughter’s response

Shifa Badusha clarifies that loan was taken and it will be returnedAmid the escalating social media attacks directed toward Badusha’s family members, Shifa posted a firm response on her social media, revealing that her father had indeed taken the loan mentioned by Hareesh. However, she stressed that the amount would be repaid. She further explained that the money is presently circulating within the production cycle of the film. She says, “I asked my father what the issue was. My father always says that children should understand family matters gradually. When the right time comes, he will speak publicly as well.”Shifa further says, “People who come to me calling my father a thief — just because you heard one side of the story, don’t attack him online. If my father took money, he will definitely return it.”She dismissed online abuse as unnecessary and emotionally taxing. Shifa emphasized that continued cyber harassment on her and her mother’s pages is not going to resolve the matter.

Shifa says she is proud of her father

Shifa revealed that she personally asked her father about the situation and respects his stance of discussing family matters at the right time. She said, “I’m proud to be Badusha’s daughter. But I don’t want to be known only as ‘Producer Badusha’s daughter’. So don’t jump into my comment box using my dad’s name.”Shifa reiterated that she is proud to be Badusha’s daughter but does not want to build her identity solely around her father’s name. Her final request was direct: do not weaponize her comment section by dragging Badusha’s name while the issue is still under internal resolution.
