Bachchan begins ‘Kalki 2’ shoot, drops BTS PICS with Kamal Haasan

Amitabh Bachchan begins 'Kalki 2' shoot, shares excitement about reunion with Kamal Haasan: 'Working together after ages'

Amitabh Bachchan is currently in Hyderabad filming the much anticipated ‘Kalki 2’, and the sequel has brought with it a special reunion. The veteran star will be sharing screen space with Kamal Haasan after nearly 40 years. The two legends last appeared together in the 1985 film ‘Geraftaar’, directed by Prayag Raj.Bachchan offered fans a glimpse from the sets on his blog, including heartwarming photos of him embracing Kamal Haasan. The images capture the duo sharing a warm hug and engaging in conversation, marking a nostalgic moment decades in the making. Big B will once again portray Ashwatthama in the sequel to ‘Kalki 2898 AD’. Reflecting on juggling work commitments, he wrote, “Told them that this Sunday I shall not be able to come , since I was shooting in Hyderabad .. but still they come .. to confirm ..but apologies .. work first .. rest later …” For those not in the know, Bachchan has a ritual since the last 42 years to meet fans outside his house every Sunday. In another post alongside pictures with Kamal, he shared his excitement about their reunion, writing, “And meeting up with the great KAMAL HAASAN … we shall be working together after ages .. last in Giraftar.”Providing a brief update on the film’s progress, Bachchan added, “Kalki 2 begun the work .. and shall ever cherish the love and affection of anticipated presence on the Sunday .. but hopefully shall be with all this coming Sunday .. My love.”Although both actors featured in ‘Kalki 2898 AD’, they did not have significant screen time together in the first installment. Kamal Haasan’s role was limited then, but the sequel is expected to expand his presence considerably, with his character, Supreme Yaskin, returning in a far more powerful and prominent capacity.Meanwhile, Deepika Padukone, who played a pivotal role in the original film, will reportedly not return for the sequel. Industry reports suggest that she and the makers parted ways following disagreements related to her reported eight-hour work shift demand and a proposed 25 percent increase in remuneration.
