Baahubali- The Epic to follow RRR’s strategy

SS Rajamouli’s ‘Baahubali- The Epic’ to follow strategy created for ‘RRR’ and be in theaters for long time

In a stunning comeback, SS Rajamouli’s ‘Baahubali: The Epic’ has grossed over $837,000 in the US and a staggering $5.07 million globally during its re-release, captivating audiences once again. Its appeal transcends borders, drawing in not only devoted Indian fans but also a diverse array of moviegoers fascinated by its storytelling and visual grandeur.

SS Rajamouli, Prabhas and Rana Daggubati led Baahubali- The Epic has the cash registers ringing in a big way at the box office for a re-release film be it in India or North America. The film in the United States of America grossed over USD 837,000 from 450 screens of which 10 to 15 % of collection came from non-Indian fans of Rajamouli who very much liked RRR and wanted to see some of his past works. The overall collection across the globe stood at USD 5.07 million. The Baahubali franchise not only blurred the regional lines for the film in India, it also opened the North American market in a big way for Telugu films. Baahubali 2- The Conclusion released in 2017 still remains the highest grossing Indian film in North America with an overall collection of USD 22 million, no other film has been able to come even close to this number. Now as per Deadline- the film would be playing in American cinemas till the next weekend and post that the film will adopt a strategy that was specially created for SS Rajamouli, Ram Charan and Jr NTR’s RRR by their distribution partners Variance films. The model created by Variance follows a simple pattern wherein they will not take the film off all cinemas in one go but carry on showcasing films in limited capacity across the country. This strategy added USD 1.5 million to the overall collection RRR once its original run came to an end. Talking about it on their Twitter page, Variance Films wrote , “ This week is just the beginning. Baahubali: The Epic will be in theaters FOREVER, because Baahubali: The Epic is what movie theaters are made for.”Baahubali- The Epic stars Prabhas in dual roles alongside Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, Tamannaah Bhatia, Ramya Krishna, Nassar, Sathyaraj, Subbaraju and Adivi Sesh.
