‘Baahubali: The Epic’ box office collection day 3

'Baahubali: The Epic' box office collection day 3: The Prabhas starrer inches towards Rs 25 crore by the end of re-release opening weekend

A film which literally changed the game for Pan India movies and set a new benchmark for Indian cinema has re-released in cinemas on Friday, October 31. On the other hand, Ayushmann Khurrana starrer ‘Thamma’ has made in the range of Rs 4 crore each on its second Saturday and Sunday. The film’s total after 13 days has now crossed Rs 120 crore. The film has fared significantly better in the South, where the director enjoys immense respect and audiences seem genuinely curious to see his vision unfold. However, that enthusiasm hasn’t translated as strongly in the Hindi-speaking belt, where such reputation matters less. Interestingly, its Hindi release size was nearly twice that of ‘The Taj Story’.‘The Taj Story’ is also doing well amidst so many other releases. That brings the two-day total to around ₹ 2.90 crore nett, and thanks to Saturday’s lift the film now has a real shot at matching the Friday figure again come Monday. Meanwhile, there’s also the Shah Rukh Khan festival which was going on over the weekend and some of his movies re-released in theatres – like ‘Main Hoon Na’, ‘Om Shanti Om’, ‘Devdas’, ‘Kabhi Haan Kabhi Na’ and that also gave competition to the other movies over the weekend.
