Arun Govil reacts to Dipika Chikhlia’s ‘out of context’ remark on him playing Dashrath in Ranbir Kapoor's Ramayana

Veteran actor Arun Govil is set to return to the world of Ramayana, this time in a new avatar. The actor will be seen essaying the role of King Dashrath in Nitesh Tiwari’s much-awaited epic, a casting choice that has sparked conversation among fans of the original TV classic.

‘Everyone is entitled to their own outlook’

In a recent interaction with IANS, Arun Govil reacted to former co-star Dipika Chikhlia’s comment, where she said she finds it difficult to see him in any role other than Lord Ram.When asked about Dipika’s reaction, Arun responded calmly, saying, “This is her own point of view, and everyone is entitled to their own outlook in life.”Dipika Chikhlia, who rose to fame as Sita in Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayan, had earlier shared during a media interaction that seeing Arun Govil as King Dashrath felt “a little out of context” for her, given his iconic portrayal of Lord Ram.

During the same interaction, Arun also spoke about sharing screen space with Ranbir Kapoor, who will be seen playing Lord Ram in the film.Praising the actor, Arun said, “He is a very fine actor, everyone knows he is a fine actor, and I could understand him as a fine human being also. I wish him all the best, he has done well.”

A star-studded and technically ambitious Ramayana

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana is being backed by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios and VFX giant DNEG, in collaboration with Yash’s Monster Mind Creations. The film features Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Mata Sita, Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, and Ravi Dubey as Lakshman. The technical team includes Oscar-winning composers Hans Zimmer and A.R. Rahman, Mad Max: Fury Road stunt director Guy Norris, and Terry Notary, known for his work in Avengers, making the project one of the most ambitious Indian films ever mounted. Go to Source
