Archana Puran Singh tries 'Bareilly ki barfi' at spot once visited by Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra: 'She doesn't visit anymore...'

Archana Puran Singh’s family vlog unveils a nostalgic Bareilly journey, blending food, film, and Bollywood memories. The family savored ‘Bareilly ki barfi’ at a shop once visited by Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra. Priyanka’s early life in Bareilly is highlighted, including her mother’s revelation about a denied reception after her Miss World win due to local opposition.

Archana Puran Singh recently took her fans on a nostalgic culinary journey in Bareilly through her family vlog, where food, film, and Bollywood memories beautifully came together. From tasting the iconic ‘Bareilly ki barfi’ at a spot once frequented by Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra to revisiting the city that shaped Priyanka’s early years, the vlog turned into much more than just a food trail.

Family outing

Archana, along with her husband Parmeet Sethi, sons Aaryamann and Ayushmaan, and Aaryamann’s fiancée Yogita Bihani, visited the iconic Kipps Sweets in Bareilly to taste its much-loved ‘barfi’ — a traditional dessert made with milk and condensed milk.

Priyanka’s connection to the sweet shop

During their visit, the shop owner revealed that Priyanka had once famously promoted the sweet as ‘Bareilly ki barfi.’ When Archana asked if Priyanka still visits, he shared that while the actress doesn’t come by anymore, her mother Madhu Chopra continues to drop in whenever she is in town. He also mentioned that the shop has hosted several notable visitors in the past, including Shah Rukh Khan and former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. In another part of the vlog, Ayushmaan expressed his surprise at how the lanes of Bareilly closely resembled the setting shown in the film Bareilly Ki Barfi, which starred Kriti Sanon, Rajkummar Rao, and Ayushmann Khurrana. The family also set out to rank the city’s top three aloo chaat spots but managed to try only two. Their plan to visit a third outlet — one previously recommended by Priyanka Chopra — didn’t work out, as the shop was shut when they arrived.

Priyanka’s bittersweet memories of Bareilly

Chopra spent much of her childhood in Bareilly, where her parents also ran their medical practice, before moving to Mumbai after winning a beauty pageant But her return to the city following the international win wasn’t met with the expected warmth. As her mother Madhu Chopra once revealed in an interview with Lehren Retro that local authorities at the time opposed the pageant and chose not to hold a reception for her, breaking away from the Miss World tradition of honouring winners in their hometowns.

Reception denied after pageant win

Madhu also recalled that the family was supposed to travel to Bareilly after Priyanka’s pegeant but a directive from the Chief Minister’s office prevented the visit. Citing potential law and order concerns, the authorities advised against organising a reception, leaving the family deeply disappointed.Meanwhile, on the work front, Priyanka will soon be seen in SS Rajamouli’s next with Mahesh babu in the lead. SRK, on the other hand, will be seen in King with Suhana Khan, Deepika Padukone, Rani Mukerji, Abhishek Bachchan and others. Go to Source
