AR Murugadoss reveals PAINFUL ‘Sarkar’ phase, says ‘We watched TORN posters with tears’

Director A. R. Murugadoss recently shared an emotional and memorable incident from the time of ‘Sarkar’ during the press meet for the upcoming film ‘Sattendru Maaruthu Vaanilai.’ The movie stars Jai, Meenakshi Govind, and Yogi Babu, and is directed by Babu Vijay, who earlier worked as Murugadoss’ assistant director.The film is scheduled to release on May 15, and its press event took place recently in Chennai. During his speech, AR Murugadoss spoke warmly about Babu Vijay and recalled how closely they worked together during difficult phases of his career. His heartfelt speech quickly became one of the biggest highlights of the event.

AR Murugadoss recalls funny interview incident with Pazha Karuppaiah

While speaking on stage, Murugadoss remembered an incident that happened after the shooting of ‘Sarkar.’ As reported by Cinema Vikatan, he said that he, the heroine, and actor Pazha Karuppaiah were giving interviews together when Pazha Karuppaiah called Babu Vijay for help.

According to Murugadoss, Pazha Karuppaiah told him, “I don’t know what to say in this interview.” Immediately, Babu Vijay explained what points he could speak about during the interaction. After helping him, Babu Vijay jokingly corrected him by saying, “Sir, you are calling me Vijay Babu, but my name is Babu Vijay.” Murugadoss said Pazha Karuppaiah enjoyed the moment and laughed happily.

AR Murugadoss says Babu Vijay supported him during tough times

AR Murugadoss further revealed that once the interview started, Pazha Karuppaiah kept mentioning Babu Vijay’s name several times while answering questions, but did not mention Murugadoss even once. After the interview ended, AR Murugadoss jokingly asked him about it.He recalled Pazha Karuppaiah replying with a humorous line: “Everyone takes water from the river in their own vessel, I just took it in a small pot.” Murugadoss said moments like these showed how close Babu Vijay was to him. The director also emotionally shared that Babu Vijay stood by him during one of the hardest periods of his career.

‘Sarkar’ controversy and Babu Vijay’s loyalty impress AR Murugadoss

AR Murugadoss became emotional while remembering the difficult days after Sarkar released. He said the film faced major controversy at that time, and even posters of the movie were torn in several places. The director revealed that he and Babu Vijay sat inside a car watching everything unfold with tears in their eyes.He added that Babu Vijay stayed beside him throughout that difficult period and supported him emotionally. AR Murugadoss proudly said that 12 of his assistant directors have now become filmmakers, and he feels very happy seeing Babu Vijay direct his own film today.
