Rani Mukerji will be back as the dashing IPS officer Shivani Shivaji Roy in the third installment of the ‘Mardaani’ franchise. The movie deals with the sensitive subject of girl child trafficking. In this upcoming movie, her character will be joining the National Investigating Agency (NIA) to probe a case of kidnapping of two young girls. Mallika Prasad plays the role of the main antagonist named Amma in the movie. The film also features Janki Bodiwala and Mikhail Yawalkar. The film has been written by Aayush Gupta, Deepak Kingrani, and Baljeet Singh Marwah. It is set to hit theaters on January 30, 2026. The film was supposed to release in February; however, the makers preponed the date to January.
