Antonio Cipriano on India Fowler’s casting in ‘Off Campus’

Speaking with People, Cipriano said he read with three different actresses for the role of Grace, all of whom he described as incredible. Fowler’s casting was unveiled just days before the show’s premiere, but the chemistry was immediately clear. “India just brought something so… I don’t know, she truly fell right out of the books. It was just like I was talking to Grace,” he said.Cipriano also explained why he was glad viewers did not see Logan fall in love in Season 1. By holding back the romance, fans get to know the character more deeply before watching him take down his walls when he meets Grace. “The first season works as an introduction for all the characters so that fans eventually root for everyone to fall in love,” he noted. In Elle Kennedy’s book series on which the show is based, Logan and Grace’s story is featured in the second book, ‘The Mistake’. However, Season 2 is adapting the third book, ‘The Score’, meaning Logan and Grace’s full romance is being saved for a possible Season 3.His character John Logan is the best friend of Garrett, played by Belmont Cameli, the co-lead of Season 1. Logan eventually falls hard for freshman Grace, who joins Briar University.
