‘Nayak: The Real Hero’ has turned 24 years since its release, and lead actor Anil Kapoor has shared a fascinating behind-the-scenes revelation. In a heartfelt social media post, Kapoor disclosed that his defining role as Shivaji Rao was initially offered to other superstars. Here’s what he posted on his social media.

Anil Kapoor took to his Instagram account to share a series of throwback pictures, including a memorable one from the audio release event in 2001, where he is seen with Shah Rukh Khan and music maestro AR Rahman.He captioned the post, “Some roles define you. Nayak was one of them.” In the post, he also expressed his gratitude to director S. Shankar for trusting him with the part.Kapoor also recalled a powerful compliment from Shah Rukh Khan. “I’ll always cherish Shah Rukh’s words on that stage: ‘This role was meant for Anil.’ Moments like these stay forever,” he penned.

In the same caption, Anil also revealed that the film was first offered to Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan. He wrote, “First offered to Aamir & Shah Rukh, but I knew I had to live this character… and I’m grateful Shankar sir trusted me.” Soon, Siddhanth Chaturvedi, Tahira Kashyap, Saiyami Kher, and several others commented on the post. Take a look: Reportedly, Aamir didn’t take up the role due to miscommunication with the filmmaker. On the other hand, SRK had played the role of reporter in his home production ‘Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani’ and hence, didn’t come on board, despite being interested.
