Aneet Padda: ‘You have to be your own soldier’

Aneet Padda: 'You have to be your own soldier'

From the vibrant streets of Amritsar to the dazzling lights of Bollywood, Aneet Padda of Saiyaara fame has journeyed with grit and resolve. In a heartfelt live session, she answered questions from fans about entering the competitive film industry sans connections, passionately reminding them, ‘You are the architect of your own destiny.

Saiyaara has to be one of the most successful love stories of Indian Cinema, it went on to mint about Rs 329 crore at the box office turning its lead actors Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda into overnight stars. Neither of the two leading actors of the film have given a video interview but on the request of their fans, Aneet’s management team had organized a fan meet a few months ago. A clip from that meeting has been going viral on social media currently. In the video Aneet can be seen sharing her struggle story which borders around a fan question of how to make it into the industry without having some support. Talking about it she said , “Never tell yourself that nothing is going to happen — because you can make anything happen for yourself. I know it’s hard; it hasn’t been easy for me either. It’s daunting, it feels distant, almost impossible at times. But honestly, there’s no other option, right? If you belong somewhere, you just know you do.”Recalling her early days, she added, “I’m from Amritsar, and I used to feel stupid for dreaming of becoming an actor in Bollywood. But I had no choice — mujhe banna hai to banna hai. I decided to try, in whatever capacity I could. And who knows if something will happen for me ? Something did happen for me, which is very cool.”Her words resonated deeply with fans across the country. Within hours, the clip from her live chat went viral on social media, with hashtags like #AneetPaddaInspires and #BeYourOwnSoldier trending on X (formerly Twitter). Adding more she states,“The world will always try to put limits on you, tell you what you can and cannot do. And sometimes, you start believing them because it’s hard to find strength when you’re young and still figuring things out. It’s difficult to find a support system. But no matter what, you have to be your own soldier.”Aneet also has two projects in her hand one being Shakti Shalini with Dinesh Vijan’s company and another being Maneesh Sharma’s next.
