Aneet Padda reveals Ahaan Panday took her to church, prayed for her to land lead role in Saiyaara: 'We'd lit a candle'

Following the blockbuster success of their debut film ‘Saiyaara’, newcomers Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda have finally broken their silence in their first-ever interview. The director, Mohit Suri, and the makers made the unconventional decision to skip a promotional spree, letting the film’s content and the actors’ performances speak for themselves. In a recent interview, the leads shared their personal experiences and what made this journey so special.

Aneet Padda’s sweet pre-audition moment

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, Aneet shared a heartwarming anecdote from before she was even cast in ‘Saiyaara’. The actress revealed a special moment she shared with Ahaan.

She said, “When I was auditioning for ‘Saiyaara’, Ahaan had taken me to Mount Mary Church, and we’d lit a candle and sat in the car.” Aneet explained that she asked Ahaan what he wished for, and a week later, after she received the call that she got the role, he confessed to his wish. As per the actress, “He said, ‘Of course, I’d wished that you’d get the role!'”In the same interview, Ahaan shared his thoughts about the ‘no interviews before release’ strategy. The actor expressed that it has made him “very happy,” as his work spoke louder even before he made any media appearances. He added, “As an artist, that’s the best thing you could ask for.”

The unique strategy of the makers to not give any interviews before the release of the film has worked in its favor. The movie went on to score big at the box office, breaking several records. As per the reports, the film crossed the Rs 500 crore mark at the box office, globally. Along with that, it also became the highest-grossing Mohit Suri film.Adding to that, the on-screen chemistry and off-screen camaraderie of Ahaan and Aneet have captured the hearts of audiences. And now, they are excited for their next projects.
