Amid Ramayana trailer, Kangana drops PIC as Sita: ‘Aashirwaad to all liberals’

Kangana Ranaut shared a childhood photograph from a 1997 school play. She portrayed Goddess Sita in the Ramayana during her school days. This memory surfaced amid discussions surrounding the recent Ramayana trailer release. The actress also recently criticized Gen Z protesters in social media posts. Ranaut was last seen in the medical drama-thriller Bharat Bhagya Vidhata.

The trailer of Ranbir Kapoor, Yash starrer ‘Ramayana’ was released recently and since then, it has been a topic of discussion on the internet. Amid all debate around ‘Ramayana’, the trailer, VFX and casting, Kangana Ranaut has shared a childhood memory where she played Goddess Sita. She dropped a photograph from 1997, in which she portrayed Maa Sita during a school play of on ‘Ramayana’.She shared the photo and wrote, “Sweet memories”. As mentioned in the post, the picture is from the 1997 batch of her school in Sarkaghat, located in Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi district. The nostalgic photograph features a young Kangana dressed as Maa Sita in a red sari. She is seen standing beside a fellow student playing Lord Ram, while another child, dressed as Hanuman, is kneeling in front with folded hands.Kangana also posted a zoomed-in version highlighting only herself from the same image. Along with it, she wrote, “My aashirwad to all liberals.”For those unaware, the actress-turned-politician has been in the news in recent days over her comments on the ongoing Gen Z protests.In a series of social media posts shared this week, Kangana criticised the demonstrators and referred to some of them as “gutter chhaap” (street trash). She also objected to the language allegedly used by certain protesters against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, both online and during the demonstrations.

On work front, Kangana was most recently seen in ‘Bharat Bhagya Vidhata’.The medical drama-thriller, directed by Manoj Tapadia, was inspired by the bravery of the staff at Mumbai’s Cama and Albless Hospital during the 26/11 terror attacks. In the film, Kangana played a nurse, while the story paid tribute to the doctors, nurses, and hospital workers who risked their lives to safeguard nearly 400 patients during one of the darkest chapters in India’s history.The film received a mixed response at the box office.
