Allu Arjun shares heartfelt note for late grandmother Allu Kanakaratnam: 'Her presence will be missed every single day'

Allu Arjun’s paternal grandmother, Allu Kanakaratnam, passed away on Saturday at the age of 94 due to age-related ailments. Her last rites were held the same evening in Kokapet, with family members and close relatives in attendance.

“Her presence will be missed every single day”

Remembering his grandmother, the Pushpa star took to social media and penned an emotional tribute.“Our beloved grandmother #AlluKanakaratnam garu now rests in her heavenly abode. Her love, wisdom, and presence will be missed every single day,” Allu Arjun wrote on Instagram.He further expressed gratitude towards those who supported the family in their time of grief: “Heartfelt thanks to everyone who came forward to share their affection and condolences. To those far away, your prayers and love were felt just as much. Thank you for your Love. Humbled.”

Chiranjeevi’s emotional note

Megastar Chiranjeevi, who is Allu Arjun’s uncle by marriage, also paid tribute on X (formerly Twitter).“Our mother-in-law… The demise of Kanakarathnamma Garu, wife of Sri Allu Ramalingayya Garu, is extremely heartbreaking. The love, courage, and life values she showed to our families will forever be an inspiration to us. I pray to God that her sacred soul attains peace. Om Shanti,” the GodFather actor wrote.

A cherished bond with her grandson

Allu Arjun was extremely close to his grandmother. Back in December 2024, when the actor was arrested after the tragic death of a fan during the Pushpa 2: The Rule premiere in Hyderabad, his grandmother’s affection was on full display.As he returned home from jail the following morning, Kanakaratnam was seen performing a ritual to ward off the evil eye, visibly emotional to see her grandson safe. The heartwarming video of the moment went viral at the time, with fans moved by their bond.The actor, who was in Mumbai for his upcoming project with director Atlee, received the unfortunate news there and immediately flew to Hyderabad to pay his last respects.
