'You are our whole universe': Alia Bhatt pens sweet birthday note for 'mama birdie' Soni Razdan

Alia Bhatt celebrated her mother Soni Razdan’s birthday with heartfelt throwback photos and a touching tribute. She reminisced about her mother’s incredible cooking, now a cherished tradition for Alia’s daughter Raha. Bhatt also reflected on her own childhood screen time, contrasting it with her current mindful approach to her daughter’s digital exposure.

Alia Bhatt, who shares a close bond with her mom Soni Razdan, penned a sweet birthday post for the veteran actress, along with some unseen throwback pictures.Check out the post here:

Throwback pictures of mother-daughter duo

While the first picture shows the senior actress hugging her daughter, the second picture shows the mother-daughter duo sharing a hearty laugh at a dinner. Alia wrote in the caption, “Happy bday mama birdie. You are our whole universe and you light it up every… single… day”.

Alia recalls her mother’s cooking

In an old interview with Jay Shetty, Alia spoke about her mom cooking for Raha. She said, “Her food tops all the restaurants and fancy chefs. I can proudly say that my mother’s food is the best in the whole world. I genuinely mean it. Shaheen and I have certain favourite dishes that we have grown up eating and relishing. We still eat them when we come home. Now, Mumma is making those same dishes for Raha and her granddaughter, and she is telling her how life comes full circle. I have goosebumps!”She shared that as a child, she loved watching television and her mother, Soni Razdan, never stopped her. Now, as a mother, Alia is mindful of her 2-year-old’s screen time and often wonders if she was wrong to let her daughter watch TV.

On parenting and screen time

She added, “I was fascinated by television. That’s something I remember very clearly from when I was growing up. In fact, my mum and I speak about it right now because she said, ‘My god, was I a horrible mother?’ Because right now, I’m so conscious of my daughter’s screen time.””I was like, no, you weren’t horrible. It was a new phenomenon at that time, perhaps. But, I’m grateful that she didn’t stop me from being in front of the television because a lot of my dreaming and imagining and getting lost in the world started from there,” she concluded. On the work front, Alia will next be seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Love and War’ with Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal.
