Akshay Kumar’s pet dog Jeeves moves from London to Mumbai, staff give him an adorable nickname; fans call it, 'typical Marathi ghar thing'

Akshay Kumar, celebrating the success of Jolly LLB 3, shared a funny anecdote on The Great Indian Kapil Show. He revealed that his British dog, Jeeves, has been affectionately nicknamed “Jeevdya” by the Maharashtrian staff at his Mumbai home. Kumar also playfully joked about the recent incident at Kapil Sharma’s restaurant in Canada.

Akshay Kumar, who is currently basking on the success of his latest release, Jolly LLB 3, recently appeared on The Great Indian Kapil Show. On the show, the actor revealed desi nickname of his British pet dog and it is simply hilarious!

Kapil jokes about Jeeves’ British roots

On the show, Kapil Sharma showed a picture of Akshay Kumar with his pet dog on the big screen. Akshay said, “That’s my dog, his name is Jeeves. He’s a British dog.” Kapil joked, “He must have a British passport!” Akshay then shared that Jeeves now lives with them in Mumbai, and the Maharashtrian staff at his home lovingly call him “Jeevdya.”

Fans react to the video online

As soon as the video went viral on social media, likes and comments poured in from all sides. While one wrote, ‘Typical Marathi ghar thing, another one added, ‘Dya is permanent.’A comment read, ‘I remembered when Tom Holland came to India and one Marathi reporter called him—‘Aye Tomya.’’ Another comment humorously added, ‘Only Maharashtrians can do this.’

Akshay takes a playful dig at Kapil

In the same episode, Akshay Kumar also cracked a joke about the recent firing incident at Kapil Sharma’s Kap’s Café in Canada. He teased, “He has already done three seasons on Netflix, before that on Sony, and before that on Colors. Now he’s working on two films. On top of that, he opened his own restaurant and is making so much money that even bullets were fired there (laughs).”
