After winning hearts with powerful roles in ‘Sky Force’ and ‘Kesari Chapter 2’, along with comedy like ‘Housefull 5’ and ‘Jolly LLB 3’ which was humour filled with an important message, the superstar is now lining up an impressive set of releases for 2026–2027.The actor is reuniting with Priyadarshan for three upcoming films, ‘Bhooth Bangla’, ‘Haiwaan’, and ‘Hera Pheri 3’ — with the first two expected to arrive next year. He also has ‘Welcome To The Jungle’ in the works. And now, Akshay is joining hands once again with another hitmaker he’s shared major box office success with in the past.

There have been speculations that Akshay would team up with Anees Bazmee for a double-role comedy titled ‘Ram Aur Shyam’, but as per a report by Pinkvilla, the project is something entirely different. A source close to the development shared to the portal, “Akshay Kumar is spearheading Anees Bazmee’s immediate next film, which is not a double-role comedy but a fresh family comedy-drama.”The untitled film will be produced by renowned Telugu producer Dil Raju under his banner, Sri Venkateswara Creations.As per the source, the movie is currently in the pre-production phase, with filming expected to begin in February 2026. Casting for the female lead and other important roles is still underway. Staying true to Bazmee’s style, the film will boast a vibrant ensemble cast and promises to deliver wholesome, family-friendly entertainment.This project will mark Akshay Kumar and Anees Bazmee’s fourth collaboration after their past hits — Welcome (2007), Singh Is Kinng (2008), and Thank You (2011).
