Akon and Tomeka look happy together amid divorce proceedings

Akon and wife Tomeka Thiam in Delhi for India tour, look happy together despite divorce proceedings

Bollywood’s favourite international artist, Akon, is back in India! The global singer-rapper landed in Delhi on Saturday afternoon (November 9) ahead of his much-awaited concert, set to take place at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium (JLN) today.

Akon and Tomeka Thiam spotted at Delhi airport

The “Smack That” hitmaker was spotted arriving with his wife, Tomeka Thiam, and his crew. Akon looked stylish in an all-black outfit, pairing a black hoodie with matching jeans, while Tomeka twinned with him in black. The couple smiled and waved to the paparazzi stationed outside the airport, with Akon expressing his excitement about performing in India again.Their joint appearance comes months after Tomeka filed for divorce in September, citing irreconcilable differences and listing their separation date as “TBD.” The filing also mentioned that the two share a 17-year-old daughter, Journey. Despite the ongoing proceedings, the couple appeared united and cheerful as they arrived for the India tour.

Concert details and police arrangements

Akon’s Delhi concert will be held at JLN Stadium, Lodhi Road, from 5 pm to 10 pm, with an expected turnout of nearly 10,000 attendees. According to police officials, entry will be allowed only through gates 13 and 14, while parking for spectators will be available near gates 7 to 9 and at Scope Complex MCD parking. In a press statement, Akon said, “India has always shown me so much love — it’s like a second home. The energy, the culture, the fans… it’s on another level. I’m beyond excited to be back and perform live for y’all. This tour is gonna be something special — let’s make history together!”After Delhi, Akon will perform in Bengaluru (November 14) and Mumbai (November 16) as part of his India tour, organized by White Fox. “Bringing Akon back to India is a celebration. This is the night fans have been waiting for. We promise an extravagant experience that will be remembered for years to come,” said Aman Kumar, co-founder of White Fox.Akon has a long-standing connection with India.
