Although the movie was not a commercial success, it played an important role in building his career in the film industry. He later directed another big hit movie called “Naanum Rowdy Dhaan” starring Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara which proved to be a milestone for him. While shooting for the movie, Vignesh and Nayanthara got into a relationship and finally tied the knot. They have two boys named Uyir and Ulag. However, his latest film ‘LIK’ starring Pradeep Ranaganathan did not do well commercially.
