ABBA’s manager Görel Hanser passes away at 76 years old as the group shares an emotional tribute

Görel Hanser, who was best known for being the veteran group ABBA’s long-running manager, has passed away. Hanser and all of the members of ABBA were quite close to one another as they had been working together for years now. She was 76 years old at the time of his passing.

ABBA announces that their manager, Görel Hanser has passed away

ABBA took to their social media account in order to share the news that their beloved friend and manager, Görel Hanser, has passed away. They shared the news in a post, which read, “It is with deepest sorrow we announce the passing of Görel Hanser. We have lost our most loved friend and closest colleague. The loss is immeasurable. We ask that you respect our privacy in this time of grief.”They also attached a black and white photo of Hanser along with the post as they remembered him. ABBA members Agnetha Fältskog, Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson, and Frida Lyngstad all signed off on the post. As soon as the news was shared online, fans of the famed group shared their tributes and offered their condolences.One person commented, “Rest In Peace dear Görel. Thanks for all the love and caring”, while another person shared, “Sending love and light – what an incredible trailblazing kind friend to all of us (heart emoji). She will be remembered by all of us forever. Thank you Görel – who always made sure we always felt seen x.” At the time of writing, no news of how she passed away was shared with the public.

About Görel Hanser

Görel Hanser had been with ABBA since their early on days in the industry. She herself had been in the industry for quite some time, though her professional experience started in 1969 when she started working in a music label company. The company was run by the group’s first-ever manager, Stig Anderson.She later on continued to work under the label, and became Stig’s secretary. Over the years, she started working closely with ABBA, and at one point became their personal manager. Taking care of press events, promotional events, and more, Hasner was actively involved in the group’s work over the past few years.ABBA members and Hasner were quite close and shared a special bond. In 1979, when she turned 30 years old, they even created a special song for her titled ‘Sång Till Görel.’ It was not publicly released; however, it was given to her along with some of her friends to celebrate her birthday.Hasner was also often referred to as the honorary ‘fifth’ member of the group.
