Aamir Khan Intervenes As Ranveer Singh And Farhan Akhtar Lock Horns In Don 3 Meltdown

From reboot buzz to financial flashpoint

Backed by Excel Entertainment — led by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar — Don 3 was envisioned as a fresh chapter for the iconic franchise. In August 2023, Farhan had announced Ranveer Singh as the new Don, taking over from Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan, who headlined the earlier versions. However, Ranveer’s reported exit from the film altered the trajectory of the project. Reports indicate that Excel Entertainment has claimed losses of nearly Rs 40 crore, citing pre-production costs and restructuring expenses. The banner reportedly sought compensation from the actor — triggering intense industry speculation about strained relations.

Guild intervention and possible legal recourse

The matter is believed to have reached the Producers Guild of India. Insiders suggest that if the impasse continues, the issue may move toward formal legal proceedings instead of remaining unresolved. The report stated that the broader tone of the meeting reflected a desire within the industry to prevent such high-profile disputes from escalating in the future. For now, neither Ranveer Singh nor Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani have publicly addressed the controversy.
