Trump warns Hamas of ‘complete obliteration’ if it rejects Gaza peace plan

Trump on Sunday warned Hamas that it would face “complete obliteration” if it refused to give up power in Gaza under his peace plan. Speaking to CNN, Trump said he expected to soon know whether Hamas was committed to peace

US President Donald Trump on Sunday warned Hamas that it would face “complete obliteration” if it refused to surrender power and control of Gaza under his peace plan.

Speaking to CNN, Trump said he expected to soon know whether Hamas was committed to peace. “Hamas will face complete obliteration if it does not cede power and control in Gaza,” he said, as the deadline for the group to accept the deal approached — 6 pm (Washington time) on Sunday.

When asked if Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu supported halting the bombing in Gaza and aligned with Washington’s broader peace efforts, Trump replied, “Yes on Bibi.”

The interview, which aired on Sunday, came just 12 hours before the deadline expired. Trump reiterated that Hamas must act quickly to reach a deal or face severe consequences.

“Move quickly towards the peace deal with Israel or all bets will be off,” Trump had warned earlier on Saturday. On Friday, he gave Hamas a final deadline to agree by Sunday evening, saying “there will be peace one way or the other.”

Trump said his peace plan, already accepted by Netanyahu, offers Hamas “one last chance” to end hostilities and release Israeli hostages. The 20-point proposal outlines a complete ceasefire and a framework for Gaza’s postwar governance.
