Chanu lifted a total of 193kg – 84kg in snatch and 109kg in clean & jerk – to mark her return in style after a long injury break.
This was Mirabai’s first major competition since the Paris Olympics last year, where she narrowly missed out on a bronze medal. The 30-year-old had been struggling with multiple injuries in recent months, which forced her to miss several important events.
