India vs South Korea, Men’s Hockey Asia Cup Final LIVE: The 2025 Men’s Hockey Asia Cup gears up for its final battle on Sunday with defending champions South Korea facing hosts as well as Pool A and Super 4s toppers India at the Bihar Sports University Hockey Stadium in Rajgir.
Korea are the most successful team in the history of the competition with five titles, compared to three each for India and Pakistan, and will be aiming to extend their reign as Asian champion on Sunday. They will, however, be facing an Indian team that enters the final in red-hot form, having thrashed China 7-0 in the final Super 4s fixture on Saturday after their 4-1 victory over Malaysia.
India will not be taking Korea lightly
What will give Korea confidence heading into the final is the fact that they are the only team that has not lost to India so far in the ongoing tournament, having held Craig Fulton’s men to a 2-2 draw during the Super 4s.
The Koreans, however, suffered a setback in the very next game in the form of a 0-3 defeat at the hands of China and were trailing Malaysia 1-3 in their final Super4s game, staring at the prospect of having to play the third-fourth place playoff on Sunday. That might well have been the case had it not been for three late goals that lifted them to a 4-3 victory.
