US President Donald Trump on Thursday said to talk with Putin soon. This came hours after he held a discussion with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. A reporter, during tech leaders’ dinner at the White House, asked Trump whether he intended to speak with his Russian counterpart in the ‘near future’.

Trump responded affirmatively, stating, “I will be, yeah. We’re having a very good dialogue.” The dinner, held at the White House, saw Trump seated at the centre of a long table flanked by First Lady Melania Trump and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg.

Initially planned to take place in the newly renovated Rose Garden, the event was relocated to the White House State Dining Room due to rain.

During the dinner, Trump encouraged the tech leaders to discuss their companies and their investments in the United States. Zuckerberg estimated that his company would be investing around USD 600 billion through 2028.
