Super Typhoon Ragasa, one of the most powerful storms in recent years, made landfall on China’s Xiachuan Island on Wednesday, bringing intense winds, torrential rain, and widespread flooding. The storm had already caused major damage across Hong Kong, Taiwan, and the Philippines before reaching China’s southern coast.
