Global leaders praised US President Donald Trump for devising a plan to end war in Gaza. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu accepted the proposal at the White House on Monday. Along with the proposal, Trump also said that it would take steps to defeat Hamas if the group doesn’t accept the proposed peace deal.
Israel would have the “full backing” of the United States, Trump added.
France’s President Emmanuel Macron welcomed Washington’s commitment to ending the war in Gaza. Similarly, neighbouring Italy also welcomed the proposal and reiterated that it was ready to play its part in close coordination with the United States, European partners, and regional actors.
Macron Urged Hamas To Release All Hostages
French President Emmanuel Macron took to X and praised Trump and also urged Hamas to release all hostages. “I welcome President @realDonaldTrump’s commitment to ending the war in Gaza and securing the release of all hostages. France stands ready to contribute. It will remain vigilant regarding the commitments of each party,” he added.

“The Plan, which Italy welcomes favorably, presents an ambitious project for the stabilization, reconstruction, and development of the Gaza Strip, with the full involvement of regional partners. In this framework, Italy is ready to do its part, in close coordination with the United States, European partners, and those of the Region, and thanks President Trump for his mediation work and his efforts to bring peace to the Middle East,” the statement adds.
German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul said the Trump plan “offers a unique opportunity to end the terrible war in Gaza.”
