With deeper details emerging in the Charlie Kirk assassination case, multiple social media users have shared screenshots of an Amazon listing for a book on Kirk’s assassination, claiming it appeared online a day before the tragedy.

The book, titled ‘The Shooting of Charlie Kirk: A Comprehensive Account of the Utah Valley University Attack, the Aftermath, and America’s Response’, was credited to an author named Anastasia J Casey, according to social media claims.

Screenshots circulating on X show the publication date as September 9, 2025. Kirk was fatally shot on September 10 at Utah Valley University, leading many online to allege that the book anticipated the event.

Several users described the discovery as “chilling” and “suspicious”, with the development quickly fueling conspiracy theories about foreknowledge of the attack.

The person who put the post later added a comment which read, “I’ve been informed that self-publication dates of e-books can be changed after the fact. A “writer” may even hold a date for a publication of something completely different and then change it after self-publication.”

“Whaaaattt??? Is this a prank???” someone commented on the post.

“No. This is real. This is a screenshot from less than an hour ago, it has since been wiped from Amazon. But I was able to find the cached page,” another one responded.

Meanwhile, the Amazon link to the book now leads to an error page, further intensifying speculation.

While social media continues to debate whether the book’s timing was accidental or deliberate, there is no verified evidence so far to suggest the book contained predictive details about the attack.

On the investigations front, the sniper who killed Charlie Kirk was still on the loose on Friday even as investigators flooded the internet with photos and video of a man believed to have carried out Wednesday’s politically charged killing at a Utah university.

President Donald Trump said investigators were making progress in tracking down the gunman who fired a single rifle shot on Wednesday that struck the neck of Kirk, a 31-year-old author and podcast host who helped galvanise the conservative youth vote and return Trump to the White House.

Officials were still calling the man captured on video a person of interest, not a suspect, but placed him at the scene of the crime at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah.

Utah Department of Public Safety Commissioner Beau Mason said the man left some palm impressions and smudges where investigators were looking to collect DNA.
