A student was arrested for allegedly mocking conservative influencer Charlie Kirk’s assassination and harassing mourners at his vigil.

During a campus tribute to Kirk, Texas Tech University student Camryn Giselle Booker was captured on video jumping and shouting at others: “F*** you all, homie’s dead — he got shot in the head.”

“I’m not being aggressive. My voice is very calm. You’re calling me aggressive because I’m a black woman,” she said.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott later informed that she had been apprehended by the police.

“This is what happened to the person who was mocking Charlie Kirk’s assassination at Texas Tech,” Abbott wrote while sharing a photo of Booker in handcuffs.

Offences of battery, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest have been invoked along with assault against Booker, as per a report in the Daily Mail.

In another post, the Governor said Booker “definitely picked the wrong school to taunt the death of Charlie Kirk.”

Cody Campbell, chairman of the university’s board of regents, wrote, “We, @TexasTech, are proud of our values and are not afraid to stand up for them. Strive for Honor Evermore! Long Live the Matadors!!”

Charlie Kirk Could Have Become US President, Says Trump’s Aide Peter Navarro

Charlie Kirk, a 31-year-old ally of President Donald Trump and cofounder of the youth organisation Turning Point USA, was shot dead while he was speaking at Utah Valley University on September 10.

A memorial service is scheduled to be held in Arizona, where US President Donald Trump, high-level administration and Republican Party officials, and top political influencers are expected to be present.

A suspect, Tyler Robinson, has been charged with aggravated murder, felony discharge of a firearm and obstruction of justice.

FBI Director Kash Patel has said DNA on a towel wrapped around a rifle found near where Kirk was assassinated matched that of the 22-year-old accused in the killing.

Investigators also have used DNA evidence to link the suspect, Tyler Robinson, with a screwdriver recovered from the rooftop where the fatal shot was fired, Patel told Fox News on Monday.
