A day after US President Donald Trump called out the person accused of beheading an Indian-origin man in Texas, the US Department of Homeland Security condemned the murder of Chandra Nagamalliah.

It stated that the incident could have been completely prevented if the “criminal illegal alien” had not been released by the Joe Biden administration.

In an X post, the Department shared a close-up image of the accused, Yordanis Cobos-Martinez, and wrote, “This vile monster beheaded a man in front of his wife and child and proceeded to kick the victim’s head on the ground.”

“This gruesome, savage slaying of a victim at a motel by Yordanis Cobos-Martinez was completely preventable if this criminal illegal alien was not released into our country by the Biden Administration, since Cuba would not take him back,” it added.

A day earlier, Trump had said that the accused would be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law and would be charged with murder in the first degree.

In a post on Truth Social on Sunday (local time), Trump stated that he was aware of the terrible reports regarding the murder of Chandra Nagamallaiah, a well-respected person in Dallas, Texas, who was brutally beheaded, in front of his wife and son, by an “Illegal alien” from Cuba.

Trump also slammed former President Joe Biden and blamed him for the “criminal” being released back into the US during his administration.

Fifty-year-old Indian-origin motel manager Chandra Nagamalliah was beheaded in front of his wife and son in Texas following a dispute over a washing machine.

The accused, a co-worker with a criminal record, was later arrested and charged with capital murder.

The incident took place on the morning of September 10 at the Downtown Suites motel in Dallas.

Chandra Mouli “Bob” Nagamallaiah, originally from Karnataka, was killed after a dispute over a broken washing machine with his co-worker Yordanis Cobos-Martinez, according to the Dallas Police Department.

Cobos-Martinez, 37, reportedly became enraged when Nagamallaiah asked another person to translate his instructions instead of addressing him directly.

Surveillance footage showed Cobos-Martinez retrieving a machete and attacking Nagamallaiah.

The victim fled toward the motel office where his wife and 18-year-old son were present, but the accused pursued him, carrying out the assault despite their attempts to intervene.

Cobos-Martine, who has a prior criminal history in Houston, including arrests for auto theft and assault, was being held without bond, it was later known.
