The country’s foreign minister called the incident “unprecedently brutal,” and the government issued a note of protest to the top Russian diplomat in Estonia, The Guardian quoted public broadcaster ERR as saying.

Estonian Postimees reported that the jets did not submit flight plans and had their radio switched off at the time of the incident. Another local media organisation, Ohtuleht, said the incident took place near the Vaindloo island, and it was the fourth violation of the Estonian airspace this year.
