A 24-year-old MBBS student from RG Kar Medical College in Kolkata has died under mysterious circumstances in Malda, West Bengal. The student had been in a relationship with junior doctor Ujjwal Soren for about a year, with the pair even secretly marrying at a temple. However, tensions arose when the student broached the subject of a court marriage, leading Soren to distance himself.

The student’s mother revealed that her daughter had become pregnant during the relationship and had undergone an abortion. She suspects that Soren might be involved in her daughter’s untimely death.

Who Is Ujjwal Soren?

Ujjwal Soren, originally from West Bengal’s Purulia district and currently a junior doctor at Malda Medical College and Hospital, was apprehended by police through tracking his phone location and is now under interrogation to uncover the truth behind the incident. Soren was presented in Malda District Court, where police have requested seven days’ custody.

Foam Emerged From Her Mouth

Initial police investigations suggest that the cause of death was a drug overdose, although the full report is still awaited. The mother recounted that her daughter had travelled to Malda last Monday to be with Soren.

On Friday, Soren contacted her, asking her to come to Malda without mentioning her daughter’s critical condition. Upon arrival at the hospital, the mother found foam coming out of her daughter’s mouth, and she tragically passed away that night.

The grieving mother, in tears, alleged, “I am certain Ujjwal killed my daughter. Maybe they fought, and she either consumed something or was forced to take it.” She is now demanding justice and punishment for Ujjwal Soren. The investigation into the case is ongoing.
