The Rajasthan government has taken decisive action against a substantial number of its employees by halting the annual salary increment scheduled for July 2025. This measure targets employees who failed to upload their personal property details on the designated online portal within the specified timeframe.

Approximately 2.80 lakh state employees have been directly impacted by this decision, causing significant unrest in government offices. The Personnel Department had clearly instructed all government employees and officers to submit their property information on the portal by June 30, 2025.

Despite several warnings, a large number of employees did not comply. Consequently, the department has suspended the salary hike that was to be implemented from July 1.

Department heads have now been tasked with preparing a list of employees whose salary increment has been affected.

The government argues that this action is essential for curbing corruption and undeclared income, viewing the preparation of online property records as a crucial step towards ensuring transparency. However, there is a silver lining; employees who complete the prescribed process and submit their details on the portal in due time can have their salary hike restored.

This decision has sparked concern among employees, with many organisations urging the government to reconsider. So far, there has been no positive response. The issue has gained momentum at the district level, with employees perceiving the move as overly harsh. More clarity on this matter is anticipated in the coming days.
