A shocking case of alleged medical negligence has sparked outrage in Rajasthan after a government school lecturer died at Rajiv Gandhi General Hospital’s trauma ward in Alwar. The family of the victim has accused hospital staff of delaying treatment by insisting on an Aadhaar card before administering any medical aid.

The deceased has been identified as Umesh Yadav, a Hindi lecturer posted at Government Gandhi School, Mahal Chowk. A resident of Padisal, Yadav had just returned from appearing in the Patwari recruitment examination when tragedy struck. His car reportedly met with an accident near Naurangabad, leaving him critically injured.

Relatives rushed him to the district hospital’s trauma ward, but what they allege happened next has ignited anger across the community. Instead of attending to the patient immediately, hospital staff allegedly demanded Yadav’s Aadhaar card before starting treatment. According to the family, they pleaded with the doctors to begin emergency care first and complete formalities later, but the staff remained adamant. Within moments, Yadav succumbed to his injuries.

The incident triggered chaos outside the hospital, with grieving relatives staging a protest and accusing the administration of gross negligence. “If the doctors had begun treatment without delay, Umesh could have been saved,” the family claimed, demanding a high-level probe and strict action against those responsible.

Yadav’s sudden death has cast a pall of grief over his family and colleagues. He was preparing for his daughter’s future and had been seen as a dedicated teacher in his community. The silence of the hospital administration, which has yet to issue an official statement, has only deepened public anger.
