PM Modi asked Russian President Putin to explain his strategy on Ukraine, highlighting to him the impact of the 50 per cent US tariffs on India, NATO chief has said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has asked Russian President Vladimir Putin about his strategy for Ukraine, NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte has said, adding that PM Modi flagged the 50 per cent tariff imposed by the United States.
Speaking to CNN on the sidelines of the UNGA session in New York, the NATO chief also said that the tariffs levied by Donald Trump were having a big impact on Russia.

“Delhi is on phone with Vladimir Putin in Moscow,” he said, adding that PM Narendra Modi is asking Putin to “explain the strategy”, citing that India has been hit with 50 per cent tariffs.
