The two leaders held comprehensive discussions on the full spectrum of bilateral matters and regional and global issues of mutual interest.

“Both Leaders expressed satisfaction at the growth of the relationship and reaffirmed their resolve to build a broad-based, inclusive, and forward-looking partnership in areas such as defence, health, agriculture, agro-processing, trade and investment, development of small and medium enterprises, cooperatives, culture, sports, education and skill development,” the Prime Minister’s Office said in a statement.

The two leaders also agreed to strengthen cooperation against terrorism and condemned terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.

Fiji PM also condemned the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22, which claimed the lives of 26 civilians.

“Both Leaders agreed to strengthen cooperation against terrorism and condemned terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. Both Leaders condemned in strongest terms the Pahalgam terrorist attack which took the lives of 26 innocent civilians; reiterated zero tolerance to terrorism and rejected double standards on terrorism,” the PMO said.

They also acknowledged the need to counter radicalization; combat financing of terrorism; prevent the exploitation of new and emerging technologies for terrorist purposes and tackle terrorist recruitment and transnational organized crime through joint efforts and capacity building. Both sides agreed to work together at the UN and other multilateral fora to combat terrorism, the statement added.

The visit is meant to strengthen India-Fiji relations in different areas, including strategic partnership and people-to-people connections.

After arriving in New Delhi, Prime Minister Rabuka was welcomed by Union Minister of State for Education and Development of the Northeastern Region, Sukanta Majumdar.

On Sunday, Union Health Minister JP Nadda met with Fiji’s PM Rabuka and held talks on enhancing cooperation in the healthcare sector. He was joined at the meeting by Fiji’s Health and Medical Services Minister, Ratu Atonio Lalabalavu, along with other senior officials.

In a post on X, he said, “Met with the Prime Minister of Fiji, Sitiveni Ligamamada Rabuka, in New Delhi today as part of our ‘Know BJP’ initiative. Our discussions focused on strengthening party-to-party relations, where I highlighted our party’s ideology, organizational framework, and its role in driving India’s development journey. We also had a detailed discussion on enhancing cooperation in the healthcare sector. Looking forward to deepening our partnership for the mutual benefit of both nations.”
