A shocking case of love, betrayal, and murder has come to light from the Maharajganj district in Uttar Pradesh. What began as a love marriage ended in a grisly crime, as a wife and her lover conspired to kill her husband.

Neha, 22, from Nepal, married Nageshwar Rauniyar, 26, six years ago. The couple lived in Rajabari village and had a young son together. But their marriage took a dark turn when Nageshwar was sent to jail in a separate case a year ago. In his absence, Neha began an affair with his friend Jitendra.

When Nageshwar returned home, he discovered the relationship and tried to win Neha back, pleading for the sake of their marriage and child. His repeated confrontations with Jitendra only fuelled tension. Finally, Neha and Jitendra hatched a plan to eliminate him.

On September 12, Neha lured her husband to Bismil Nagar. She served him alcohol, drank beer alongside him, and waited until he fell asleep. With chilling precision, she tied his hands and feet with a scarf and, together with Jitendra, strangled him to death.

The duo then attempted to erase evidence. They stripped and cleaned Nageshwar’s body, transported it on a bike, and dumped it on a deserted road 25 km away. They even planned to escape to Mumbai but were intercepted by police before they could flee.

During questioning, both Neha and Jitendra confessed to the crime. Police recovered the body in the early hours of September 13, and the case is now under investigation following a complaint filed by Nageshwar’s father.

What began as a love marriage ended in betrayal and murder — a chilling reminder of how trust, once broken, can spiral into unimaginable violence.
