Investigation revealed that Ramesh often showed his wife obscene videos and pressured her to imitate what she saw in them.

A shocking incident has come to light from Munirabad in Koppal district, Karnataka where a domestic quarrel between a husband and wife ended in murder. Ramesh, a 50-year-old KPTCL employee, was killed in his home, and his wife Mahadevi now stands accused of striking him with a wooden pestle during a heated fight.

The couple lived in the Irrigation Department Layout of Munirabad. On the night of the incident, neighbours reported hearing loud arguments from their house. Police say the quarrel escalated when Ramesh allegedly assaulted Mahadevi. Enraged, she picked up an onake (a long wooden pestle) and struck him. Ramesh collapsed on the spot and died from the injury.

From Money Disputes to Obscene Videos

At first, it was believed that the fight centered around money. Ramesh earned a good salary as an operator with KPTCL, but reportedly gave his family only Rs 2,000. His son, working in Dubai, would also send money, and disputes over how this money was handled were said to be common.

However, new revelations have brought a different angle to the forefront. According to investigators, Ramesh often showed his wife obscene videos and pressured her to imitate what she saw in them. Neighbors and relatives claim this behavior led to daily quarrels and harassment at home. Police now suspect that this was the deeper trigger behind the fatal altercation.

Harassment Allegations

For years, Mahadevi is said to have tolerated the harassment. At 50, Ramesh allegedly continued to pester her with demands influenced by the videos.

According to police sources, Mahadevi confessed during questioning that she was humiliated and mentally exhausted by the constant pressure. On the day of the murder, the harassment reportedly escalated to the point that she lost her temper and lashed out violently.

The murder has shocked the residents of Munirabad. Locals describe Ramesh as a man with a secure job and a respectable standing in society, but behind closed doors, his family life was marked by conflict. Investigators are now piecing together both the financial disputes and the alleged sexual harassment to determine the exact chain of events that led to his death.

The Munirabad Police have registered a case and taken Mahadevi into custody. She is reported to have shared with officers the details of her husband’s behavior and the daily stress she endured. The investigation is ongoing, and police are awaiting further forensic reports.

Another Domestic Tragedy in Chikkaballapur

In a separate incident on the same day, Chikkaballapur district witnessed another family-related tragedy. A young housewife, Shobha, aged 26, from Yallampalli village in Bagepalli taluk, ended her life by suicide following a domestic dispute. She was alone at home when the incident occurred. The Bagepalli Rural Police have registered a case and are probing the matter.
