A 22-year-old househelp Priyanka Bibar came forward with serious allegations against Tamil and Telugu actress Dimple Hayathi and her husband David, claiming she was subjected to harassment, humiliation and assault during her employment at their Hyderabad residence.

Speaking exclusively to CNN-News18, Priyanka, who hails from Rayagada district in Odisha, said she had been working at the couple’s home in Shaikpet for just 10 days when the alleged abuse began.

“I have worked at their house for 10 days. They tried to assault me and even threatened to kill me. I don’t have any evidence, not even a photo. They troubled us a lot, so I told about it to my sister and my husband,” Priyanka told CNN-News18.

She further alleged that she and other workers were denied proper meals and routinely insulted.

“They did not provide proper food and used to abuse us by saying, ‘You are dogs, you are beggars, so stay like one.’ Because I called my manager and informed her about all this, he broke my phone,” she added.

Priyanka said that she has reported the matter to the police in detail.

Priyanka, who arrived in Hyderabad on September 22 through Sri Sai Goodwill Service, was assigned as a domestic worker at the couple’s residence in Vamsiram’s Westwood Apartment, Shaikpet. According to her complaint, she faced continuous humiliation, food deprivation and verbal abuse.

On September 29, matters escalated during a confrontation as Priyanka alleged that both Dimple and David threatened her and her parents. When she tried to record the altercation, David allegedly snatched her phone, smashed it and attempted to assault her. She claimed that her clothes were torn in the scuffle and that she narrowly escaped before filing the police complaint with her agent’s help. In addition, Telugu Scribe reported that Priyanka also alleged an attempt to film her nude videos.

The police have registered a case against the couple under Sections 74, 79, 351(2) and 324(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). As of now, Dimple Hayathi has not issued any public statement on the allegations.

Dimple Hayathi, 27, made her debut in Telugu cinema with Gulf (2017) and went on to act in several films including Khiladi, Ramabanam, Gaddalakonda Ganesh, Eureka, Veeramae Vaagai Soodum and Devi 2. She also appeared in Aanand L Rai’s Atrangi Re (2021) alongside Dhanush, Sara Ali Khan and Akshay Kumar.
