A man in Sirmaur district was arrested for allegedly murdering his mother and burying her near their home. He confessed to the murder during interrogation.

A man has been arrested for allegedly murdering his mother and burying her in a field near their home in Himachal Pradesh’s Sirmaur district, police reported on Tuesday.
In a shocking report from Himachal Pradesh’s Sirmaur, a man killed his own mother over domestic altercations. As per the police the accused allegedly murdered his mother and trhen buried her body in a field near their home.

The victim, a resident of Chadech village in Sarahan gram panchayat under Pachhad sub-division, was reportedly murdered on Saturday night.
The incident came to light when 51-year-old Jayamanti Devi’s son, Pushp Kumar, approached the police and filed a missing complaint.
During the preliminary investigation, Pushp Kumar’s sister and several local residents expressed suspicion that he might be involved in his mother’s disappearance, noting that he frequently quarreled with her, police stated.
Upon interrogation, the accused confessed that on Saturday evening, during heavy rain, he had an argument with his mother over a domestic matter and attacked her with a blunt object.
Jayamanti Devi sustained severe injuries on her head, hands, and other parts of her body from the attack. The accused admitted to strangling her to death. Taking advantage of the rain and darkness, he buried her body in a field approximately 100 metres away from their house, police disclosed.
Following his confession, police booked Pushp Kumar for murder and arrested him.
Rajgarh Deputy Superintendent of Police VC Negi announced that the buried body was recovered on Monday evening, and a post-mortem examination is scheduled for Tuesday.
The accused’s father, Lacchi Kumar, had passed away just two months ago.
Previously, a case had been filed against the accused for assaulting family members.
