According to her complaint, the driver initially asked her to sit in the front seat, which she refused. The report mentioned that when the driver understood she was from South India, he began passing lewd remarks, allegedly tried to touch her, and eventually started masturbating in the moving car.

Despite her protests, the driver did not stop until reaching North Campus, where the student escaped and sought help. She later lodged a written complaint at Maurice Nagar police station. Police confirmed that the accused is a resident of Malka Ganj and has been taken into custody. The vehicle has been sent for forensic examination, and the student is being provided with counselling.

Police noted that the incident highlights the importance of safety protocols while using cab services, urging passengers to check driver ratings, share trip details, send live locations, and use the Himmat App in emergencies.
