Death toll in Punjab has risen to 37, as the state witnessed the worst floods since 1988, officials said.

The flood situation in Punjab was worsened as the state received a fresh spell of heavy rains on Wednesday, taking the death toll to 37, officials said.

This is the worst deluge in Punjab since 1988, as crops on 1.75 lakh hectares of land in 23 districts suffered damage.
