A Deputy Secretary in the Finance Ministry was killed after a BMW driven by a woman hit his motorcycle in Delhi. The car was registered in the name of the driver’s husband.

In new details regarding the death of a senior Finance Ministry official in a road accident in Delhi, the BMW car being driven by the accused woman was registered in her husband’s name.
According to the details on the official website for all India RTO vehicle registration number search, the car is registered in the name of Parikshit Kakkar, the woman, Gagandeep’s husband.

The BMW being driven by Gagandeep on Sunday hit a two-wheeler, which was being driven by Navjot Singh (52), Deputy Secretary in the Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance, and a resident of Hari Nagar. His wife was riding pillion.
The accident happened near the Delhi Cantonment metro station on Ring Road.

Navjot Singh and his wife were rushed to a hospital in a taxi by the woman and her husband, who were in the BMW, soon after the accident.
Later, the police were informed by the hospital that Singh had succumbed to injuries, while his wife, 50, was undergoing treatment.
According to the police, they received three PCR calls in the afternoon about a traffic jam near metro pillar number 67 on the Dhaula Kuan-Delhi Cantt stretch. A team rushed to the spot and found a BMW X5 lying sideways on the road and a motorcycle parked near the road divider.
Eyewitnesses told police that a woman was driving the car when it hit the motorcycle from behind.
News agency PTI quoted the police as saying that the BMW driver and her husband, who runs a business, are residents of Gurugram. The couple also sustained injuries in the accident and had been hospitalised.
Their statements were yet to be recorded.
Meanwhile, both the vehicles involved in the accident had been seized and the spot was examined by a crime team and experts from the Forensic Science Laboratory were called in for assistance.
A First Information Report (FIR) was registered in the matter, and an investigation was underway.
