Jack Osbourne and Kelly Brook set for I’m A Celebrity

Emma SaundersCulture reporter

ITV 10 people can be seen wearing various outfits of red and khaki green, with some wearing large khaki hats. They are posed in front of a jungle backdrop as part of the announcement for the new cast of I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!ITV

TV personality Jack Osbourne, comedian Ruby Wax and model and presenter Kelly Brook are among the celebrities who will brave the Australian jungle in the forthcoming series of I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!

Other famous faces include former Lioness Alex Scott, Emmerdale actress Lisa Riley and Spandau Ballet bassist Martin Kemp.

Rapper Aitch, social media personality Morgan Burtwistle, who is known as Angryginge, EastEnders’ actress Shona McCarty and comedian Eddie Kadi round out the list.

The line-up was confirmed just a few days before the 25th series begins on Sunday at 2100.

Kelly Brook

ITV Kelly BrookITV

The model and Heart radio presenter has previously declined invitations to appear in the show but now feels she’s ready, having already gone outside her comfort zone to run the London Marathon and take part in the BBC’s Celebrity Race Across the World.

Unlike Race Across the World, though, she’ll be taking on the jungle solo, without husband Jeremy at her side.

“On Race Across the World, I had Jeremy who was really the driving force behind it. He kept me going and not having his support is going to be difficult,” Brook said.

“I will have to do this on my own two feet. It’s the longest we will have been apart, but we are seeing it as a hiatus from married life!”

And like most, she’s not looking forward to the eating trials: “I have got to see it as good protein,” she joked.

Ruby Wax

ITV Ruby WaxITV

US comedian Ruby Wax has boldly declared that she isn’t afraid of anything ahead of going into the jungle.

She’s interviewed dozens of celebrities over the years on her hit 90s BBC show, When Ruby Wax Met…, including Pamela Anderson, Sarah Ferguson and the now US President, Donald Trump.

Wax said: “I am most looking forward to mingling and finding out about everyone. I do it naturally.

“I won’t be interviewing, because I hope they ask me questions. There is nothing more boring than someone who doesn’t ask you anything!”

She added that she wants to “show people I’m not aggressive. I was stereotyped during my career.”

Martin Kemp

ITV Martin KempITV

Spandau Ballet star and actor Kemp follows in the footsteps of his presenter son Roman, who took part in I’m A Celebrity in 2019 and came third.

Explaining why he was happy to move some of his DJ gigs to take part on the show, the pop legend said: “I’ve had to cancel some jobs but when Roman was on I’m A Celebrity…, I was addicted.

“I watched it every day and enjoyed it so much. I felt it was now time in my life for an adventure.”

He added he would be a soothing presence in the camp: “I’m a calm person and I am quite laid back so when people do get flustered or are missing home, I will be a good person to come to.”

But fellow camp mates will have to smuggle in their ear plugs, as Kemp admitted he is a snorer.

Jack Osbourne

ITV Jack OsbourneITV

Jack Osbourne is entering the jungle with full backing from his famous mum Sharon and sister Kelly.

He said they will be tuning in and said they have told him they hope the experience will take his mind off things, after his dad Ozzy died earlier this year.

Having fronted the show Adrenaline Junkie in the past, we’re expecting big things from Osbourne in the trials, or at least the physical ones.

“Heights do not bother me at all, because I have been climbing for years and I’ve done some pretty sizable routes – so it’s not a problem for me. But I’m not really great with bugs.”

Aitch

ITV AitchITV

The Mancunian rapper – whose real name is Harrison Armstrong – is already a big fan of the show.

“On a personal Harrison level, this show is something I grew up watching in our house. It would almost be disrespectful to say ‘no’. Why would I not do it?” he said.

But he added that he also had another reason for taking part.

The star has a sister with Down’s syndrome called Grace, and has previously released a song about her titled My G.

“On an Aitch level, I feel like I have got this calling to raise awareness for Down’s syndrome and I feel that’s the perfect place.”

Alex Scott

ITV Alex ScottITV

Former pro footballer and now pundit and presenter, Scott said her sporting career will put in good stead for the show’s infamous trials.

“At first I kept over thinking about what everybody else would think, but this is an amazing opportunity to test myself,” she said. “I am super competitive – but with myself and not other people.”

She said the hardest part about doing I’m A Celebrity is making sure she doesn’t let her shyness get the better of her.

Scott said that aside from her family and partner, singer Jess Glynne, the things she will miss most in the camp will be her “hair stuff, custard creams and bourbons”, adding: “I love a cup of tea with a biscuit.”

Angryginge

ITV AngrygingeITV

The content creator, who has more than three million followers on social media, unsurprisingly is concerned about how he is going to cope in the jungle without his streaming devices.

He said: “My whole life is spent on the phone. I’ve been away once for a week. And so, two to three weeks without it is going to be very educational to see how I will do!”

Angryginge, whose real name is Morgan Burtwistle, said camp mates will be hoping he isn’t put on chef’s duty, as he confesses he can’t cook.

“If I am the chef, they are going to be in big trouble!”

Shona McGarty

ITV Shona McGartyITV

The actress is best known for her previous role as Whitney Dean in EastEnders.

She is going to miss something a little offbeat when she lands in the jungle.

“I wear headphones at night and I listen to serial killer documentaries. I don’t know what that says about me, but it helps me to sleep randomly. Someone will have to tell me a scary story to get to sleep!” she joked.

McGarty said she’s looking forward to people seeing a different side to her following her role in Albert Square.

“Everyone expects me to wear massive gold hoop earrings and have a ponytail whilst eating chicken nuggets! But I am nothing like that. I’m looking forward to using this experience to be completely myself, which nobody has seen.”

Eddie Kadi

ITV Eddie KadiITV

BBC Radio 1Xtra presenter Eddie Kadi said he’s embarked on intermittent fasting in the weeks before heading to Australia, so he can get used to the strict diet.

“I have never camped outside before either and the closest thing I have come to this is a walk in Kew Gardens!” he said.

It’s not his first foray into reality TV, although this experience will be quite different to Strictly Come Dancing, which he took part in two years ago.

In 2020, he made history as the first black British comedian to headline the O2 arena.

Lisa Riley

ITV Lisa RileyITV

Emmerdale star Lisa Riley is also a Strictly alumni, having taken part in the show in 2012.

Now she’s dancing into the jungle.

The soap star said: “They have asked me to be in it numerous times before – but now I’ve finally said ‘yes’.

“The reason is I’m going to be 50 next year, it’s thirty years on and off playing Mandy Dingle in Emmerdale and ten years of being sober. It’s like a big baguette where everything I wanted was in it.”

We’re not sure she’ll manage to avoid all of her worst fears, however.

Riley revealed: “I’m petrified of rats, confined spaces and the dark.”
