New Delhi: Volkswagen Passenger Cars India has commenced pre-bookings for the Tayron R-Line, its upcoming flagship SUV, ahead of its planned launch in February 2026.

Customers can reserve the model with a booking amount of ₹51,000 through authorised dealerships and the company’s digital platforms, Volkswagen said.

With the Tayron R-Line, Volkswagen is set to expand its portfolio in the premium 7-seater SUV category, which has seen rising demand for spacious and feature-rich vehicles in India.

Locally assembled flagship SUV
The Tayron R-Line will be locally assembled in India and positioned as a high-end offering in Volkswagen’s domestic lineup.

The company said the model features 23 key features, including advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) with 14 Level 2 functionalities, alongside a range of comfort, safety and technology upgrades.

The Tayron R-Line is powered by a 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine producing 204 PS and 320 Nm of torque, paired with a 7-speed DSG transmission and Volkswagen’s 4MOTION all-wheel-drive system.

Volkswagen said the SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.3 seconds and reach a top speed of 224 km/h.

Volkswagen’s move to introduce the Tayron R-Line reflects its strategy to strengthen its presence in the premium SUV space, complementing existing models such as the Taigun, Virtus, Tiguan R-Line and Golf GTI.
