Tata Motors is accelerating production of the Tata Sierra as demand for the SUV continues to surge across India, with bookings now crossing the one-lakh mark. The company says the production ramp-up will support higher deliveries in the coming months as it works to shorten waiting periods for customers.

According to a company spokesperson, Tata Motors has already delivered more than 14,000 units of the Sierra since dispatches began in mid-January 2026. With manufacturing volumes increasing steadily, the automaker expects deliveries to pick up further as production scales up across its facilities.

“The strong bookings and nationwide demand for the Tata Sierra is being addressed with rigour and agility. Since commencing deliveries in mid-January, we have successfully dispatched and delivered over 14,000 Sierra vehicles as of February 2026 and are firmly on course to further accelerate deliveries,” a Tata Motors spokesperson told ETAuto.

The spokesperson added that the company is expanding output month-on-month while coordinating closely with suppliers to ensure smooth component availability and consistent production flow.

“Production is steadily ramping up to scale volumes month on month and quarter on quarter. Our teams are working closely across manufacturing and the supplier ecosystem to progressively reduce the waiting period from booking to delivery, while ensuring the highest standards of quality and customer experience,” the spokesperson said.

With bookings already exceeding 100,000 units, the Sierra has quickly emerged as one of the company’s most anticipated launches in recent years. Tata Motors said customers with confirmed bookings will receive periodic updates on their delivery timelines as the company continues to expand production.

“Customers with bookings of the Tata Sierra will be kept periodically informed on their expected delivery timelines as we steadily progress towards fulfilling their Sierra ownership experience,” the spokesperson added.

Reviving one of the brand’s most recognisable nameplates, Tata Motors launched the new-generation Sierra in India in late 2025, positioning it in the highly competitive midsize SUV segment. The model is priced in the ₹11 lakh to ₹21 lakh (ex-showroom) bracket and is offered with multiple powertrain options.

The lineup includes a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine producing around 106 PS and 145 Nm, a 1.5-litre TGDi turbo-petrol engine delivering about 160 PS and 255 Nm, and a 1.5-litre diesel engine generating around 118 PS and up to 280 Nm of torque. Transmission options include 6-speed manual, 6-speed automatic, and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic depending on the variant.

Inside, the SUV features a technology-focused cabin highlighted by a triple-screen dashboard layout comprising a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster for the driver, and an additional 12.3-inch display for the front passenger. Other key features include a panoramic sunroof, connected-car technology, a 360-degree camera, ventilated front seats and Level-2 advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).
